Facebook faces another privacy glitch

Another glitch is shaking Facebook's already unstable privacy reputation, this time in Facebook videos, according to TechCrunch.

Facebook video allows users to share short clips with friends and family, and because many of the videos shared are personal and private, there is an option for users to restrict who can view that video. Unfortunately, those privacy controls are not working as they should and for the last week, anyone on a user's friends list can see a full listing of friends' videos including video name, thumbnail, description and people tagged in each clip.

Clicking on the thumbnail of a private video still leads to a message saying the clip had been removed or is hidden due to privacy settings, but, just the name of the private video or the thumbnail picture of the content could be enough to get users into trouble. Facebook has now fixed this glitch, which was live for over a week.. This is the latest in a long string of privacy problems for Facebook, which have ranged from sending messages to the wrong people to vulnerability to XSS attacks on partner sites.
